Had a fight with a lawn mower #DN@FF

Let me reframe that. My lawn mower had a fight with the water meter.

Here’s the thing about mission nomad, expecting the unexpected is definitely part of the journey.

I’ve never EVER mowed a lawn my entire life. BUT, when chatting to the fam bam, who co own the house I’m residing in, I got the brief: while you’re there, you have to do some jobs! And one of them was mow the lawn.

I even had to teach myself…by watching YOUTUBE!

To date, whenever I’ve lived in a house, there’s been someone else to do the job (thanks mum and dad)…..and in adulthood, to be fair, I’ve never had a lawn. Don’t feel too bad for me, I’ve had my share of rooftop decks and courtyards!

A curious thing happened. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole pulling back to the cord and thrill of seeing my handy work.

So determined was I to do perfect the job, that I went a little too close to the water meter (don’t tell anyone, but I mowed over it hoping to get me some perfect edges).

Next thing you know, the damn thing exploded.

YIKES!!!

It’s a good thing that I got my brother Warwick on the phone and he both calmed me down and told me what to do. And then I actually got the council out to fix it too!

In more ‘exotic’ style digital nomad news, I am absolutely loving this experience. The big difference here is the sky. It’s sooooo clear and that makes for stunning sunrises and sunsets.

I’ve taken to spending an hour or so out on the pier with my bean bags every evening and oh my, is it a beautiful end to the daylight.

Here’s another thing I’m thoroughly enjoying. Airbnb $ rolling into my account! What a way to do life :)

In future travel matters, there’s 3 weeks today until the next big adventure, which is a trip to Uluru with my nearest and dearest. Prepare yourself for photo spam when that rolls around.

In the meantime I will continue to share stories about things like lawn mowers 😍
