In Human Design, Gate 22 is called the gate of ‘openness’ and is the energy of offering and receiving emotional grace through listening to others. With keynote of sharing, this gate transforms volatile emotional energy (moods) into depth and beauty (grace). This awareness matures over time as you learn to dance with your emotional wave and comfortably express your depth.

In my Cosmic Content Codes, I call gate 22, “Emotional Grace” which is all about connecting with others through empathy. Inviting connection and holding space for others through listening and being open to sharing + what’s being shared. Also, it’s about embracing discomfort, seeing blessing in suffering and empowering others to see that as well.

Gate 22 sits in the emotional solar plexus and with 22 defined in your chart, you might feel all the ebb n flow of an emotional wave. But 22 also provides the grace to move through these waves and transmit your emotional depth in a beautiful, graceful manner.

The 22 people possess emotional sensitivity and are intuitive to others’ emotions. You emotionally tune into what others might need to feel safe in a group setting and provide that in the best possible way.

The shadow of gate 22 dishonor

The shadow of this gene key - dishonor is about how much responsibility you can take for your own emotions and not be ruled by them. This shadow will have you trying to fix your emotions instead of allowing them to pass through you. In turn, you either become bitter, antisocial, improper or reactive. This can also manifest as the inability to listen and be misunderstood even when your intentions are good.

Gift of this gate, Graciousness has a rare and profound quality that has an effect on everyone it touches. Graciousness means that whatever you do in life, you always consider the feelings of others. This gift is not just about stirring people's feelings, but also touching their hearts and souls.

The shift from shadow to gift happens by softening your rough edges and putting an end to your fears and doubts about your divinity. It’s about the belief that we are all here to be tested, over and over, until we show that our faith in the divine can never be lost.

WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A GATE 22 BRAND

If you have Gate 22 in your Personality Sun (or Mercury), you are a brand that believes that helping others follow their passions (empowerment) is the key to success. You demonstrate exceptional emotional intelligence and social & professional grace. You empower others emotionally to have the courage to follow their passions even when little evidence of success exists.

No matter the niche you’re in, as a coach, healer, network, or digital marketer, your clients/customers are looking for help. They especially need help when they are facing emotional turbulence and feel like giving up mid-way because their efforts don’t seem to pay-off.

When the Sun (or Mercury) is in Gate 22, share stories of good grace to be honest & open when things aren't working and importance of keeping going. Also being comfortable in the discomfort because our challenges/sufferings expand us. You can use prompts like these to start conversations:
