In 2007, I approached my CEO with a question.
Could I possibly relinquish my role as head of client relationships (for the Sydney) agency & move across to the open role of head of digital?
His head nearly spun off! I was literally requesting to reduce my power base. Moving from running a team of 50 or so -> to a team of 6.
When asked why, here’s what I shared. I realised, that I get energy from forging new territory as a leader & I love tech. I always have done. I had also become less energised by my current role, where I was seldom required to create, with my key responsibilities focussed on retaining clients and people. Which boiled down to an energetic drain for me.
Gratefully I was supported in moving to the role. My career exploded, as I geeked out, grew into an industry thought leader & turned our small team into a mighty big one. Before long I was elevated to Chief Digital Officer of Australia & then after a run in with breast cancer, leveraged my digital creds to pull off a relocation to New York.
As my coaching business has developed, something magical has happened. My history of leadership & digital marketing experience has dropped in, like pieces of a puzzle.
When I created and launched the #litupandliberated Biz Academy course, the content poured out of me like nothing I’ve ever experienced. The response from the awesome crew who are ‘in it’ with me, is exceptional. They’ve become clearer, more strategic & empowered. They’re booking in clients and growing their confidence, week in, week out.
All this to say, here I am admitting that my business has evolved: FROM doTERRA, to wellbeing consulting, wellbeing/life coaching (who does biz & leadership coaching too!) TO….Business + Leadership coach, for digitally driven business owners (with a passion for sharing wellbeing!).
