This Gate series synthesizes the wisdom of Human Design and the Gene Keys to support you in leveraging your energetic frequency in creating authentic and aligned marketing. It’s designed to help you grow your engagement and inspire your ideal clients. The gates are particularly relevant in your marketing when:

  1. You have the Gate we are exploring in either your Personality Sun placement (this is your personal brand DNA) or in your Personality Mercury placement (how you’re designed to communicate).

  2. When the Gate is stationed in the Human Design Transit chart in either the Sun or Mercury positions - both will create a background frequency of this energy that gives you insight into the types of messaging your ideal clients will respond to.

In Human Design, Gate 3 is called the gate of ‘ordering’ and is the energy of creating order from chaos. It’s the creative (sacral) energy to solve challenges head on. It is also the archetype of ‘the eternal child’ (Gates 1 & 2 being the parent archetypes) which means it is a playful energy which radiates ease, joy and light-heartedness in any situation.

In iChing, Gate 3 is called ‘difficulty at the beginning’ which is basically the initial dissatisfaction with the current circumstances that prompts the need for change. I like to think of this as the friction that precedes breakthroughs!

With a keynote of mutation, Gate 3 energy asks us to transform what’s not working anymore through innovation.

In my Cosmic Content Codes, I call Gate 3, “The Alchemist” which is an archetype of seeing challenge as an opportunity to go looking for the gold.

As a result, the Alchemist is willing to go through difficulty knowing that change takes courage. It’s the true energy of turning lemons into lemonade.

And that’s exactly been my life experience with gate 3 as my Personality Sun gate.

This gate has made me to be a living example of seeing value in facing difficulty. My journey from chaos to innovation has been the story of my business that’s led to the joy and fullness of expression I get to experience today.

Through Gate 3, I have learned to authentically share the friction it’s taken to wake me up to my higher purpose and potential. I often say I was asleep at the wheel until breast cancer awakened my truth. That was the big ‘chaotic’ moment that led to the start of an amazing mutation. And despite initial difficulty and shock (and lots of pain), I finally welcomed change with acceptance and courage:

  • Navigating a year of surgery, treatments and their side effects (like losing all my hear) with bravery

  • Seeing my health challenges as a defining moment and becoming curious to what kind of life I wanted in the future

  • Ultimately walking out of my high profile, global advertising agency

  • Building a business from scratch to multiple six figures and evolving it towards human design for marketing in response to spiritual guidance

  • Becoming known as a “go to” in the space within months and no a co-host each month on the largest Human Design podcast in the world!

I believe that Gate 3 radiating through my frequency with a line 5 flavour, it’s in me to lead the way for others. To shine a light on their difficulty as the gateway to all they desire. And that feels like an enormous gift and has become my purpose.

Gate 3 Summary

If you have gate 3 in your chart, you possess qualities like innovation, courage, resilience and persistence.

You evolve continuously and love everything and everyone around you to evolve. 

You constantly look for quick radical changes (channel of mutation 3-60) that allow you to grow quantumly.

But you also learn to appreciate the life’s bumpiness which you come to believe is the key to huge transformation unavailable otherwise on smoother pathways.

THE SHADOW OF gene key 3 chaos

The shadow of gene key 3 is chaos which is about fear of change which comes from thinking that humans are powerless against nature (chaos). It either manifests as the need to maintain control or as the rage and anger resulting from subscribing to this fear.

Not letting go of control or anger may result in physical tensing of your body which may in turn cause illness or weakness in body (chaos).

THE GIFT OF gene key 3 innovation

Gene Key 3’s gift of innovation is escaping the fear-based shadow perspective of change.

“No matter who or what we are, we’re subject to constant change. When we let that truth in, it’s very uncomfortable, at least in the beginning. This Gene Key is all about the process of letting change in. We have to let it into our heart, body, and soul.” - Richard Rudd

The 3rd gift is also about play (the eternal child) and the connection of play with innovation. Play can appear to look like chaos to our shadow part, but this is where innovation thrives. Innovation requires a deep sense of inner trust which is experienced through play.

The shift from shadow to gift happens when you embrace chaos rather than trying to protect against it. When you truly surrender to the environment and flow of life, then the perceived "chaos" will eventually turn into order.

WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A GATE 3 BRAND

If you have Gate 3 in your Personality Sun (or Mercury) as I do, change is part of your brand's DNA, you welcome it and appreciate the fact that friction brings transformation. You know that it is only through rising to challenge that the real gold is discovered.

As a gate 3 brand, you are here as an agent of change. Your journey will likely feature a tumultuous experience of major challenges and ultimate breakthroughs. Your story is one of evolution, and while it isn’t smooth sailing, you know it’s in the bumpy times that you innovate and ultimately transform. The ultimate destination is your bliss.

When it comes to positioning your offers, make sure you own your resilience, vibrance and courage as a leader in your field. Embody ease and playfulness through your brand. Demonstrate that transformation is available when you trust life to point you in the right direction (typically the path of least resistance).

No matter the niche you’re in, as a coach, healer, network, or digital marketer, your clients/customers are looking for help. They especially need help when they are overwhelmed by chaos in their lives/businesses.

When the Sun (or Mercury) is in Gate 3, share stories of turning a mess into a success. Share finding the hidden meaning in challenges along the path to transformation. And cultivating courage in the face of difficulty.
