Do you love to travel? Me too!

Do you love to travel? Me too!

I've made sure to do plenty of it in my life thus far.

I must admit though, the exciting adventure is all too often accompanied by pesky jet-lag and when unlucky a few more ailments to negotiate your way through on top.

A friend asked me, which essential oils I recommend she take on her next big trip away. I got busy typing out an email. Before I knew it, I had covered the top 10 oils. Yes, I take them all with me on my travels, plus a few extra's for good measure!

Putting the garden in gardening leave

According to Wikipedia Garden leave or gardening leave:- describes the practice where an employee leaving a job – having resigned or otherwise had their employment terminated – is instructed to stay away from work during the notice period, while still remaining on the payroll.

Gardening leave is a term that originated in the UK and was adopted in Australia & NZ too. When I resigned back in October, 2016 I didn't think it would happen to me. After all I'm leaving a US focussed role to run a Sydney agency. Yes on a Global scale we compete, but from my view point, my specter of influence doesn't overlap.

Two secrets behind being a 'glass half full' person

Choosing the right picture for this post was a little difficult. I'm sure you will agree we don't often focus our camera's lens on those moments when things could have worked out better.  This snap was shot in San Diego on a very over cast beach. It was the last day of a long weekend and my travel companion was on a much earlier flight than I.  Which left me at our beachside locale without a lot to do. I could have easily sat around the hotel, perhaps had a few drinks and wasted away my day. Instead I decided to get out in the fresh air and practice yoga on the beach. To my delight the hotel even furnished me with a matt at my request. Result.

The magic of 'coincidence'

A couple of weeks ago, over dinner the book 'The Four Agreements' was recommended to me by a friend. We share many of the same beliefs when it comes to our guru's and guides in life. I wrote down the title in my little black book (I mean iphones notes) knowing I would get to it in time. Then I got back to eating.

Two days later, the picture featured here was re-posted on instagram by the brand I'm wearing in it (which is K-Deer, they make AWESOME tights). Randomly the pic was hashtagged with 'thefouragreements' amongst other things. I have no idea why, I mean what has a picture of me in my tights got to do with this book? What I do know is that I am unquestionably meant to read it. One click on Amazon later and it was winging it's way to me.

Follow your bliss

How beautiful is this pic?  It was taken in Bali 3.5 years ago on one of my best friends wedding trips.  I love Bali. I love my friends. This trip was very special, blissful even.

I have the word bliss and specifically the concept of following your bliss on my mind. Which is a good thing, because I was completely side stepped from my path this week then was snapped right back onto it after recieving a message from the universe loud and clear last night.

Digital detoxing

Last weekend, I unintentionally went on a digital detox retreat. What I mean by that is I signed up for a yoga retreat and didn't read the fine print. What the fine print said was that there would be 1/ no alcohol 2/ no technology (outside of cameras) and 3/ copious amounts of mindfulness.  In full transparency I may not have booked myself in for all this serious stuff had I been more across the agenda!
